Great things are happening in the Eastside Promise Zone! Demolition of the Wheatley Courts public housing complex is underway, graduation rate at Sam Houston High School has increased from 46% to 84% in two years, and $28 million in Promise Zone federal grants have been secured. A job fair will be held on November 18, from 9 a.m.-noon at 2nd Baptist Church at 3310 E Commerce Street; over 50 employers have been invited!
